This is a long one b/c I haven't kept up in a while...just look at the pix if you want instead of

reading the ramble.

Starting from the 80's Party,

So first of all, I went home for a weekend in Waycross, quite a while back, to shoot an 80's party for Waycross Jaycees - which was awesome! I saw several of my peeps from high school and had a great time partying with everyone, oh - and working of course : )

You know actually, everyone looked up to date b/c these styles are back in? And the daisy duke football coach shorts are always in, right?

Try not to pay attention to the glaring specular highlight in this one...

My brother was embarrassed about this one and made me unpost it! He's a bank manager by day, party animal by night - just kidding... he doesn't party.

Good times & RIP Michael...

I remember riding to dancing classes and listening to Thriller on the way. I really thought it was scary and I got really excited but scared listening to it... cheap but safe thrill b/c I'm scared of haunted houses and stuff.

This whole setup was done by the Jaycees committee - I brought a cheesy white background but when I got there I used this set instead, it was awesome! WAY more creative : )

What was I thinking with my blah background when I had no idea my fellow Waycrossans would pull through so brilliantly?

That night when we got home, Rudee and Jersey (white american bulldog) got in a little argument and this is what happened:

The terrible thing is... I didn't realize she was hurt and snuggled with Jersey on the couch after the incident. Didn't realize until she literally screamed the next morning when I put my head on hers for morning wake up lovings. I mean, normal dog lovings of course - nothing gross.

I'm supposed to stop talking about the incident - per my brother b/c it's his girlfriend's dog.

Anyway, I love Jersey still and Rudee is completely healed (and a lot tougher?). I just wanted to mention it once again so I can shout out to my brilliant and compassionate vet school friends, Carolina and Awilda, who helped treat her!!! Her head is completely healed now! The only thing sacrificed is her awesome natural mohawk but it'll grow back. She now has an alfalfa sprout instead.

Carolina and Awilda are awesome and need great jobs after graduation : )

The next beautiful but hot day was Ely's (my nephew's) 4th birthday party and he soaked everybody with his watergun. Just look at his face.

It was too hot to stay outside so I didn't for long, just ate cake and chips and junk inside and stayed cool...

Then, that afternoon I wrecked Jon's Honda - well, a guy ran a red light and knocked the bumper off, hitting the passenger side of the car. Luckily, neither one of us got hurt and the guy was very apologetic and nice and honest, but the whole thing was freaky...

After the wreck I continued on to my destination, which was a late afternoon photo session with Allison Holt and her sweet fiancé Brent and adorable son Jaxon. Her Aunt Da was also there to help entertain and keep Jaxon company while we focused on Allison and Brent.

Jaxon made it halfway through the pix before milking the treats. Thank you Da!!

The next weekend I shot the wedding of the now Benny and Rennata Deutsch. The wedding was at Ashford Methodist Church in Watkinsville, Ga, and reception at Athens Country Club. The wedding was beautiful and I was lucky to work with such a wonderful family on both sides. Everything went as scheduled, and Susan (Benny's mom) did a wonderful job coordinating. Also, Benny's dad

surprised us and brought pink umbrellas for the bridesmaids photos and provided some comic relief for everybody! They're awesome to work with : )

Osborne DJ Entertainment guided Benny and Rennata through an awesome reception, and Jennie Evans Designs did a freakin' beautiful job on the flowers!

The next week I was so excited b/c I got to meet Yonah and Athena at Bear Hollow, our awesome little animal sanctuary at Memorial Park. Kathy Wright had the winning bid for a pet portrait session from ACR's Mutt Strut and wanted the bears photographed! It was so awesome, we met with Clint and Berkeley at Bear Hollow, who let the cubs play in DJ's (the other resident bear) environment (while DJ was kept away from the cubs). Kathy's husband Brown also came to help. This was also the first time the bears were introduced to DJ!

Yonah and Athena are so adorable, climbing trees and splashing around in DJ's pool - one even suckled my elbow until Berkeley came and removed him from my back, just in case he was hungry and wanted to eventually bite harder.

On May 15th India Landrum organized a "Dog Day Afternoon" at Oconee State Bank where we photographed pets and their people outside of the main street location. India is an awesome assistant... I think she did WAY more work than I did! The pix turned out really cute and we raised $300 for the Oconee Animal Shelter, thanks to Z-Dog Bakery too for providing scrumptious treats for the day!!

May 15th is also my sweetie's birthday so I bolted back to see him at his Twilight Rain Date Event, then went to Katie's wedding ceremony (of Entourage Clothing and Gifts). I just couldn't miss it because I didn't want to... but also b/c Toby and Tilly were in it!

Tilly!!! Don't you know not to take attention away from the bride? BAD girl!

Later I went back to see Jon at his birthday party at the Dirt Jumps...where I think he got a good taste of his age?

Look Jon... you're not a teenager anymore! But you sure still have the energy of one ; )

Anyway, turns out he never mentioned anything about a banana cake so I don't know where I got that from but he loved it! I don't know if I've ever baked a cake for a boyfriend before?

...just remembered there's some left and eating it now, does cake get old after 3 weeks? Sure tastes good still!

Well, back on the road tomorrow to scar the roads up to Metropolis Illinois to meet up with Jon for another Toronto trip! Pack your little doggie bag Rudee b/c your getting dragged along yet again. Until next time...happy tails.

Missouri, North Carolina, and Athens

It's been a busy but fun last couple of weeks and it started off Wednesday with a very nice pet portrait session with Logan and Molly and the rest of Mary Miller's crew:

Then, Thursday morning we were headed for a road trip to Missouri(a) with a crew of Athens/Atlanta BMX riders for a contest in Joplin, Missouri. We had an awesome trip, stopping pretty frequently on the way out there. I had a little fainting spell in a Subway near Missouri and the sandwich maker revived me with peppermint oil! It really worked too! Anyway...I don't know what was up, probably car sick and too much red bull? There's no telling.

Anyway, the contest was pretty cool and most of my entertainment was just watching people. Also, I'm amazed that these guys can fall, bust their asses really hard...and get back up and try it again...whaaat?

We camped at the KOA, then stayed at the contest ALL day long for 3 days. Jon shared his meals with me and we dragged Rudee to everything and she just sat there and took it! She loved it!

We drove all night and got back to Athens around 12pm. The next day after sleeping in a little we loaded the motorcycle and more of Jon's Freestyle Connection stuff up and headed out to Indian Trail, NC, then Wilmington for Jon's school shows.

After the Wilmington show, Jon and I split ways with Jarred and took off...with Rudee...back to the Days Inn...a pet friendly hotel I might add! Very nice choice of hotel / nice staff and a cute little restaurant.

We forgot about having Rudee until last minute so she's stuck with us again!

We got comfortable at the days inn, then left for dinner at a place called Dockside (I think). It was okay, but I think we ordered the wrong thing.

The next morning we loaded up Rudee in the backpack and headed to a beach, or 2 or 3 until we finally found the more laid back and pet friendly Kure beach.

We stayed for a little while but didn't find any sharks teeth - but WAIT - I just remembered to mention that Jon found his FIRST shark's tooth on the sand just after leaving the bar near the beach in Wilmington and here is the proof:

We left the beach, squeezed Rudee in the backpack, and headed for a cool ferry ride!

We parked the motorcycle and walked around the boat. The captain even fed her pupperoni's!

It was awesome and such a pretty day!

We rolled off the ferry then headed for Indian Trail to pick up the van Jerrad drove back from Wilmington for us. Here are some pix along the way:

We stopped to eat at a place in Lumberton (pretty sure) called Fuller's BBQ and OMG they give you a ton of food AND you can substitute items from the awesome looking buffet to go in your BBQ plate. This is the SMALL version, whaaaat?

The ladies were soooooo nice, too. They immediately came out to offer Rudee water. Here's a pic of Rudee licking her ass while the waitress tries to talk to her:

This is a guy we met on the way, telling us about his lil' ol' terrier at home when he saw us with Rudee. I couldn't get over the impressive wad of dip in his cheek! How'd he fit that much in there?

We showed up at Jarred's house FINALLY... we had been on that motorcycle for WAY longer than we expected and we were both really tired. We were cracking up on the way home b/c we meant it to be a leisurely ride! Of course we had fun though.

Back in Athens, we had some friends show up Friday and Saturday night, and I yard sailed with my friend Amanda and her AWESOME well behaved son Jackson.

Amanda bribed him with an oreo mcflurry! I'd be good too for a mcflurry - especially for an m&m one...I LOVE those and they're cheaper and better than blizzards!

I also found this awesome Trek bike and I absolutely love it! I think it was meant to find b/c there's a lady bug on the spoke! Look!

So finally to end this long blah blah blahg, we went to the ACR Mutt Strut! Rudee won first prize for most talented when she did her yoga stretching moves with us! She actually pulled it off, front AND back leg stretches! Way to go Rudee!!!

Pet Portrait Party and such...

This past weekend I was hired to do several pet portraits at the home of Amanda and Michael Zimmerman. I met this sweet couple and their precious dog Lucy during pet portraits at the Dawg House Grooming & Gifts last Christmas, so now I finally had the opportunity to meet and photograph their 3 adorable cats as well!

We also had Jay and Bear:

So after the pet portraits I went to meet Jon at Gresham MotorSports, where he was announcing for a BMX show. Thought I was gonna be completely bored but ended up having nice time since we were in the pit with the race cars and goings on. I just entertained myself by watching people and taking pix.

Recent Cool Things

This weekend and week end were filled with exciting things...including acquiring

On Thursday, Jon built a deck in 4 hours, and I helped by holding things up and what have ya. It's awesome and I can't wait to get a hammock, tiki lights, windchimes, etc. to make it festive and gaudy. It's gonna be an awesome place to hang out!

Also, Lisa Vogt had a grand opening and ribbon cutting for her "Dawg House Grooming & Gifts" adorable store, located on South Milledge near Entourage Clothing and Gifts. Lots of people and pups came out and we had an awesome time. Rudee (my dog) had a little attitude, but adjusted it once she got a grip on handling the excitement. Here are some pix:

I'll just fill most of this with photos, not text because I haven't kept up in a while and have forgotten some details...though they may come back as I look again at the pix,

...okay, it did.
So, a couple of weekends ago, we made a trip to Waycross to visit and to make a beach weekend out of it. The weather turned out to be unseasonably cold, AND I developed a mad, gross cold to make it even. Despite the conditions, we still had a great time and camped for a night at Hannah Park in Jacksonville, Fl. The desk attendant mentioned it was a very nice, quiet site...which was the truth after 1am when our neighbors went to sleep. They had a nice, large, warm camper beside their campfire and listened to a combination of country & popular tunes from the 70's, and an extended version of the "Deliverance" theme song. We listened to them reminisce about old times from our campsite, while we roasted marshmallows, ate strawberries and a had couple of beers and laughed.
We got as much sleep as possible before waking up for sunrise...a rare occasion for our sleeping habits.

Our bike riding plans were dampened with rain that morning so we took showers, loaded up (b4 the rain) and headed on to Orlando to see some friends. Rudee had an introduction to 3 cats...slowly but steady. It was hilarious but you had to be there.

Wonderful salad at a restaurant called Pom Pom's. This place is AWESOME for the sweet & salty palate.

My salad had something of everything that I chose including mixed berries, sun dried tomatoes, avocado, nuts, and other stuff.

We had an awesome visit with Lydia and Justin, then headed for Ormond beach for the afternoon.

Sandy Creek Day

Today we were invited to Sandy Creek by my friend Vicki Eshelman. We had a great time while also reuniting with several acquaintances from yappy hour and pet portrait days. I can't wait to go on some fun trips with this group of awesome people!

It was an absolutely warm & beautiful day for the peeps and the pups. Hard to believe we were covered in snow last Friday! After the early session I headed back to Sandy Creek for a pet portrait session where I met sweet Meredith, Wrangler & Rhodee.

At the Dog Park, kinda

Today I spent some time with Rudee and took her to the Intramural Fields to check out the dog park. It looked so warm outside but it was really, really, really freakin chilly.

A couple of dogs came out but didn't stay long either. We waited a little but then I got selfish & cold and cut our visit pretty short. However...

I decided to make this little intro... (mud in the background, not poo, but next time...)

On our way back to the shortcut to my condo we came upon 2 new friends:

First we met Cody & her folks and got some serious energy out. When Chaco came out with his person, Rudee & Cody were impressed by his frisbee fetching skills and decided to follow him while he caught the frisbee.

He was pretty awesome!

After the frisbee catching got old, the three went and played on a leftover patch of snow and brought sticks to each other and played and played.

I converted some to black and white because it looked cool:

To end this I want to give a shout out to my sweet man Jon who is helping fix up my condo for my open house. He's so cute even with dust all over his face!

Valentine's Weekend

A white weekend in Athens, Ga!

Jon and I had decided to do something Friday night for Valentines instead of going out on Sunday to avoid crowds? The snow delayed our dessert & Ciné plans so we made k'bobs on the grill with tomatoes, pineapple, olives, chicken, red and green peppers, and okra and they were AWESOME.

Great...by the way with a Terrapin IPA...

So the next morning we rode bikes to check out the remnants of snow and ice and leaning snowmen, then continued our delayed Valentine plans that night with a champagne and jazz reception at ciné - and we made it JUST in time for the petit fours (sorry about spelling here) and wonderful truffles from the local White Tiger Gourmet and endless glasses of the bubbly! By 9:30 we were hickupping and went to our movie, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, which we will watch again b/c Jon fell asleep and I had to take several bathroom breaks in between. Interesting movie though! I had to confiscate the popcorn bag from Jon during the movie b/c he has no sense of popcorn movie etiquette...

The next morning we exchanged Valentines and went to Watson Mill for the day, after brunch at my FAVORITE Five Star Day!

The sun came out just as we arrived at Watson Mill so we rode bikes and hiked with Rudee for the rest of the afternoon. Today was a perfect chance to experiment with my new 35mm Nikon 1.8 lens - suggested to me by my photographer friend Trent Chau. I love this lens!
